Recently, the 2026 Annual Conference of the Polypropylene Branch of the China Chemical Fibers Industry Association was successfully held in Jieyang, Guangdong Province. This conference brought together experts and scholars in the industry as well as representatives from various enterprises. They jointly analyzed the current operation situation of the polypropylene industry and conducted in-depth discussions on the high-quality development path for the industry during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period.

During the meeting, the Polypropylene Branch of the China Chemical Fibers Industry Association successfully completed the换届work. Hubei Botao Hexiong Fibre Co., Ltd. was elected as the new president unit. This move indicates that the industry will rely on the leading role of the leading enterprises to further deepen the collaboration of the industrial chain and consolidate the consensus for development.

Looking back at the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, China's polypropylene industry has achieved remarkable progress in terms of scale expansion, standard system improvement, and technological innovation, and its export trade volume has also witnessed significant growth. However, in the face of increasingly fierce market competition, the industry still faces challenges such as the need to enhance equipment levels, a shortage of professional talents, and intensified market substitution competition. The representatives present unanimously believed that relying on the association's platform to deepen collaboration and seizing the transformation opportunities are the key to driving the industry forward.

Regarding the future development direction, industry experts have pointed out that during the "15-16" period, the polypropylene industry should focus on four key aspects: Firstly, it should deepen product innovation and vigorously develop functional and differentiated products, actively expand emerging markets such as new energy vehicles, high-end filtration and medical protection; Secondly, it should adhere to the green development concept, increase the research and development efforts of recycled and biobased polypropylene products, and build a full-chain green supply system; Thirdly, it should integrate industrial chain resources, form innovation consortia, and enhance industrial collaboration capabilities and development resilience; Fourthly, it should accelerate digital and intelligent transformation, promote the construction of digital workshops and intelligent factories, and drive the industry towards the direction of high-end, green and intelligent development.
