Flame retardant staple fiber  flame retardant mechanism:

(1) Endothermic effect. Flame retardants with high heat capacity undergo endothermic reactions such as phase change, dehydration or dehydrohalogenation at high temperatures, reduce the temperature of the surface of the fiber material and the flame zone, slow down the rate of thermal cracking reaction, and inhibit the generation of flammable gases.

(2) Cover protection. When the flame retardant is heated, it melts on the surface of the fibrous material to form a glass-like coating that acts as a barrier between the condensed phase and the flame. It not only isolates oxygen, prevents the diffusion of flammable gases, but also blocks heat conduction and heat radiation, reducing the heat feedback to the fiber material, thereby inhibiting thermal cracking and combustion reactions.

(3) Gas dilution. The endothermic decomposition of flame retardants releases incombustible gases such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and ammonia, so that the concentration of combustible gases at the cracking of fiber materials is diluted below the flammability limit. Or make oxygen deficient in some areas at the center of the flame, preventing combustion from continuing. In addition, this non-combustible gas also has the effect of heat dissipation and cooling. The order of their flame retardant effect is: N2>CO2>SO2>NH3.

(4) Condensed phase flame retardant. Through the action of the flame retardant, the thermal cracking reaction process of the fiber macromolecular chain is changed in the condensed phase reaction zone, which promotes dehydration, condensation, cyclization, cross-linking and other reactions until carbonization, so as to increase the carbonization residue and reduce the flammable gas. Produced to make the flame retardant play a flame retardant role in the condensed phase. The flame retardant effect of the condensed phase is closely related to the matching of the chemical structure of the flame retardant and the fiber.

(5) Gas phase flame retardant. Add a small amount of inhibitor to capture a large number of light free radicals and hydrogen free radicals in the flame area, reduce the concentration of free radicals, thereby inhibiting or interrupting the chain reaction of combustion, and exerting a flame retardant effect in the gas phase. Gas phase flame retardancy is not sensitive to the chemical structure of the fiber material.

(6) Surface effect of particles. If a certain amount of inert particles are mixed in the combustible gas, it can not only absorb the heat of combustion and reduce the flame temperature, but also, like the wall of the container, on the surface of the particles, a large amount of high-energy hydrogen radicals in the gas phase combustion reaction will be released. , converted into low-energy hydroperoxy radicals, thereby inhibiting gas phase combustion.

(7) Melt droplet effect: Some thermoplastic synthetic fibers, such as polyamide and polyester, shrink and melt droplets when heated, and the contact area with the air is reduced, and even the droplets fall and leave the fire source, which makes the combustion subject to a certain amount of time. hinder.

Flame retardant staple fiber characteristics:

1. Good safety. The fibers do not melt when exposed to fire, and the low smoke does not release poisonous gas.

2. Permanent flame retardant effect. Washing and rubbing, etc. will not affect the flame retardant properties.

3. Environmental protection. Using natural cellulose fiber as the carrier, the waste can be degraded naturally, which meets the requirements of environmental protection.

4. Excellent permanent flame retardant and fire resistance. Flame retardant staple fibers have good performance in preventing flame spread, smoke release, melting resistance, and durability.

5. Good thermal insulation and anti-static properties. Provides full thermal protection.

6. The flame retardant staple fiber has the characteristics of natural fiber. The fabric has the moisture absorption and release properties of natural fibers, and the fabric is soft, comfortable, breathable, and brightly dyed.
